LX470 Folding mirror won't fold

Didn't see any threads with my exact symptoms so would like to know if anyone has ever seen my problem... Passenger mirror won't fold even though I hear the motor working. The mirror will move manually but moves too easily without hardly any force. In contrast, the driver side always works via the button and it won't budge manually. I have to mention that it was intermittent in the past, would always work the second time with the button but now has kinda completely stopped working with the warmer weather.

Has anyone taken apart the mirror and dug into the guts of the mirror motor like they have with the door actuators? Would be a blessing if it turns out to be the same motor but that's probably asking too much.

My PS mirror doesn't fold in sometimes. I just fold it in manually and it starts working with the button again... Annoying but not enough for me to try and fix it.

I have the same issue on my 00 LX470. First it wouldnt work every once in a while, then only one would work, then the back up tilt issue and the folding issue no nothing works. lol

Is the motor for folding the same as for the door locks?

According to eBay the motor for both locks and folding mirrors is FC-280PC but according to the forum the motor for at least the locks is FC-280PT.

that right there is a meth addict level of disassembly. I think I'll try this trouble shooting of the interior of the actual switch before inspecting the gears.
