2003 LX470 Brake switch / stoplight switch.

Can someone please show me a better
way to replace the BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH?

I only got to disconnect it but the removal
is pretty difficult from having limited to no
space to move .

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any info or a name for this plastic clip that appears to attach to the pedal and acts as a stop for the brake light switch? Mine has disintegrated. I had to pull my fuse to make my brake lights go off.

I was able to fix my issue for only $0.25. While I was piddling around in the shop I found a quarter. I put it in my bench vise and bent it to fit around the pedal shaft. I then test fit it to make sure it allowed the brake lights to go off and me to shift gears. It worked like a charm. A couple of wraps with some duct tape to “permanently” secure it and I’ve got a cheap fix to (hopefully) last another 250k miles.
