I originally wanted a turbo but turbos get hot have lag and are more suited for high revving motors. I always thought turbos on these didn’t really make since. Compared to a supercharger. Don’t get me wrong I like turbos I have a 600hp mazdaspeed6
Have you ever driven a turbo 1FZ?

My turbo FZ had been turboed for 10 years and ~90,000 km. Very little lag, additional power from 2k rpm to rev limiter at 5500 rpm.

No challenges with cooling in Aussie summers.
 
That bullet kit looks nice. Superchargers give boost right off of idle. If that's what your looking for it sounds like that would be a good kit. I would think a stock ecu could handle 5psi of boost just fine.
I may try it with the stock ecu just to see. He did say the supercharger is larger than the trd. Also he told me the piggy back comes with 2 preloaded maps tuned for my specific setup/mods. One for 91 and one for 95.
 
Forgot to mention you have to delete the egr system since they don’t have them in Australia. It gets in the way I guess

This is my kit for sale. I bought the kit several years ago, but never tried to install it. I decided to keep my 80 mostly stock and bought a 200. I decided to sell it since I don't plan on using it.

Ok 2 questions. Did you ever hear back from the person you sold it to on how it performs. And did it come missing parts or did you misplace them over the years of it just sitting around

I haven't sold it, I still have it. It came missing some of the parts. It was a trade show demo unit and there are a few pieces pieces missing. As far as I can tell, the fan spacer and studs and coolant hoses are missing. I don't have any brackets for the heat exchanger so you'd need to make some mounts.

I have a turbo'ed 80 and i have no lag that I can tell. Dude, this is a 7500# 80 series, it's one big GIANT lag with four wheels. The turbo makes it feel like it's on steroids. Your point of reference is a nimble rice rocket, so take my jest with a grain of salt ;)

Turbo does get hot, just throw money at it like a shiny Ron Davis radiator and the problem is solved. The tranny is now at 327xxx miles with no mods and still shifts nicely. I may bump up the line pressure one of these days just for S&G.

The merits of a turbo vs SC has been discussed ad nauseum but I'm so glad I went with a turbo, 4.56 r&p, & 315s. It's a pleasure to drive my 80 long distances once again.
 
When I talked to the guy on the phone he said they would send a higher flowing intank fuel pump along with the piggy back ecu that can not only adjust the extra injectors but it can also adjust all 6 stock ones and timing. I guess I don’t understand why everyone gets the magnuson that costs more but doesn’t come with an intercooler or engine management? Is it for simplicity? Why would simplicity cost more?

What are you using for fuel management for that turbo
 
Happy to answer any questions you may have about our Turbo kit. Just sent one back home to Kansas last week. Not sure where you're located but if you're near south central Kansas I could likely arrange a meeting so you can see an installed kit.

Idk how Iv never seen this kit. I feel like Iv searched every corner of the web for boost options the last 2 years. Anyways I’m located in Manhattan. I just looked into the kit and my only concern is the fact that there is no intercooler. I know people say with 7 psi you don’t need one but what about on those 100+ degree days? Surely you could see some detonation In certain scenarios. My other question would be fuel management I know we don’t need it at this boost level but I have a serious hp addiction lol.

Stage 2 has everything you need....intercooler, big jets....ect.

Not on the website yet but if you’d like to discuss it give me a call tomorrow. We have one being fitted to a truck right now and another starting when that’s done. Aiming for 400hp/600ftlbs on stock internals. Intercooler, injectors, bigger fpr, fuel pump, pnp ecu w/ tune. It will be available very soon…
