Was up visiting my friends new vinyard today in Sonoma CA.
We finally got some rain and he wanted to check out the water storage lake, so we thought lets take the (2 week new to me) LX and get a closer look.
Well the clay mud got deep really soon and we were up to the front control arms in mud.
I locked the center dif and put it in low range and we went farther but still got stuck.
The mud was pushing a mound of ahead of the front tires that we could not make it over. So I backed up in the tracks we already made and made a run at it and we finally made it through. keeping up the speed was key.
I have had a Suburban, F250 and a Subaru outback. I know in any of these other vehicle we would have been stuck. This rig is amazing.
I get to spend my day off cleaning the mud out from under the LX, which is my wifes DD, and make it presentable for the work week.
For a bone stock rig to do this then drive us to dinner then the 100 miles back home in comfort is just amazing to me and validates why I bought this machine.
