Just brought an iKamper mini RTT, and picking it up tomorrow.
The dimension of iKamper mini is 57.1 (L) x 54.3 (W) x 12.5" (H) and weight 125LB.

Does anyone know if 14 LX OEM roof rack w/ OEM cross bars will be sufficient for carrying around 125LB RTT during light to moderate off-roading?
I think OEM roof rack is rated for 155LB or something.
LX has a shorter roof rack compare to LC, however, the dimension is perfect w/ iKamper mini RTT.

I go through auto carwash regularly and just don't want to deal with aftermarket roof rack at the moment.

Anyone with similar experience with OEM roof rack and RTT?
Should I replace the OEM crossbars with the aluminum bars from 80/20.net?
Any thoughts?

The stock rack was conservatively rated for the service the vehicle was likely to see. Off road - yes, dune jumping - probably not.
Thanks... not sure if it's still ok to carry during moderate off-roading.

I believe the stock rack is up to task.

You may want to source another factory cross bar if only to help to minimize flutter and movement when underway. Flexy is good for long term durability, but adding just 1 more bar well lend better support overall.

What a brilliant yet cost effective idea! :)
My friend w/ LX570 is swapping out his OEM rack with a Victory 4x4 rack... I will ask him to donate 2 cross bars for me.
Thanks foe the suggestion!

There you go. Convenient coincidence.

It's how I've run both RTTs, I own. A heavier classic RTT style back on my 100-series. And also now with a Superlite, but on an LC rack.

I forget if the LX rack has much lengthwise curve to it. If it does, co-locate the bars in pairs front and back.

Excellent advice as always! Thank you!

I have an iKamper mini. Really only use it in the fall when bear activity is really high or like this picture when we go up to polar bear territory. And I would not mount it to the OEM bars. I have mine on the OEM rails (which I have switched from LX to LC rails) with yakama round crossbars and rail grab feet. I think this set up is way more versatile and practical than any of the Safari racks I haul everything you can imagine up there. Crossbars go on and off in five minutes. Here is a picture well above the Arctic Circle from when I had the LX rails with the RTT.

Beautiful!
I saw your pic on from the other thread.
Very nice... might have to research on that cross bars.
