I have an 1999 LX-470 that the sunroofs tilt is stuck in the tilt position. It moves a little, maybe a half inch, and then nothing. I sprayed WD-40 to help lubicate it and still nothing. I dodn't care if I ever use this tilt ever again, I just want it closed. The sunroof portion is nice to keep functioning. I also dont want to spend hundreds of dollars on a repair. Is there a manual crank that I dont know of? How can I get this to go down? Also, it seems like to right side is trying to work and the left side doesnt move.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This just happened to me today too. I removed the plastic trim on the underside of the glass and removed the four nuts and removed the glass. Then I pushed the mechanism down flush with the rail. I probably bent some stuff but my goal was to get the roof shut. After I got them down installed the glass. When I buttoned everything up, I then opened the switch housing and disconnected the motor electrically.

BTW, all of your symptoms were 100% what I experienced.

Btw, I used wd40 and also tried to blow any garbage out of the track. When you remove the switch housing, there is a shaft on the motor that you can see turning and I assume this would be the ideal place to turn manually. I tried to lock some needle nose vise grips on it but it didn't help anything.
