My 2004 Exhuast tip is somewhat aged \ rusty. What size or what chrome tips have others put on the LX470? I believe it is different than the LC.

Ride out the stock system and if so inclined, replace the whole thing with a Borla Cat-Back.
Or in my case, replace the Borla muffler and resonator with and SLP....

That sounds great. Did all that kind of mod with my last couple of Diesels and it was great. I think I will keep this one stock since I have 90k on it and about to do the 90k service, etc.
The 2007 limited edition LX470 had a factory stock tip....but i can't find it anywhere as they only made 400 of the Limited Edition. I wonder if they used a borla tip of if there is an actual part number for the 2007 tips that were "special".

Ok, here is the pic of the 2007 Limited Edition with the chrome Exhuast Tip. Does anyone know what brand or size this is. I ordered one and it seems too long.
noticed my 98 had the exhaust exit out the side behind the pass rear wheel... yet there is a square hole in the rt side as part of the trailer hitch for it to pass through... looks stupid with nothing passing through the hole... Interested in a chrome tip also...
Careful! I recently purchased another LX. It had a PA racing exhaust tip-think you can get them at Autozone. This week as we were unloading things from the back I was looking down at it and trying to figure out why the prior owner put it on there. Then my wife walks up to get more stuff out and gets a 2nd degree burn on her knee from the tip. Exactly when I was thinking about it and planned to remove it. Suffice to say it is off right now.
How big of a tip are we talkin? Like a 5 incher that should be on back of a duramax? Ive had some thoughts on putting a large turn down tip on mine as well. I have the borla catback and it sounds great, im just looking for a different look now

not to hijack this, but could someone weigh in on any safety issues from just trimming the tip? Like just cut it off right after the muffler? Would it turn the cargo area into a stove, dump exhaust into the cabin, or any other bad things?
you can cut off the exhaust out of either the muffler or resonator if you wanted to - you'd likely get some negative sound from this though, like drone, maybe you like the sound. I'd also suspect that you may get slight exhaust fumes coming in through the rear vent windows. If we had roll-down rear window like a 4runner, this would be bad since it would definitely suck in fumes when you let exhaust dump underneath. Common mod here is to remove the resonator and replace with a new section of exhaust pipe with a turndown - frees up some room underneath so you don't it it offroad, and also gives slightly more grunt since no resonator. It would also allow you to say reposition the tip for convenience -- example is when using a hitch platform carrier, the stock exhaust location is directed straight at your platform due to height of hitch vs exhaust (at least on my 2002 it is).
