I found what goes in the vent cowl. I bet Pimp needs one of these

65's must not have that flip up vent, I believe mine has just the grate over the top.

My LV has the flip up cowl vent (w/o the grill of course), but is titled as a '65. Think it is titled wrong or perhaps a late '64 titled as a '65? (No brass tag)

if a 64 the VIN will start with 4-FJ45XXXX, 65 will not have a 5 in front of it.

my resto'd 64, has a 4-fj45 frame #, its older than my old 64, but the VIN tag is stamped(at the factory) with 1965...........its an odd ball.

Thanks pimp, you're right, no # in front of the FJ45-. So now I guess I have to find the frame # if I want the real answer, right? Why do I get the feeling they used whatever happened to be around the factory on any given day?

I think thats true with most early cruisers, but more so with the 45LV as they were made by Gifu(small shop) Toyota just piled up frames.......they used them as they got to em, I suspect my resto'd 45 frame was at the bottom of the pile and was made in 65.....but it was a 64 frame, not sure when they marked the VIN plates......I suspect when it was about ready to roll out the door, otherwise my VIN plate would have been marked 64.
