The fully hydraulic A442F is not something that was ever available in North America, just the electronic version, so finding good info on it can be a challenge. Hell, even getting people to acknowledge it's a real thing can be a challenge, lol.

Man, I'm hoping it just works and I don't need to mess with it... auto transmissions scare me as it is. And, now that you mention it's an rare transmission, I don't want to have to touch it!

Well, rare in NA, relatively common in other parts of the world ('90-'92 in Japan and Australia for sure). The fact that it's the beefed up Wholesale Automatics version, it should hold up to anything you throw at it.

I have the Slee plates. The Landtank ones from Wits End are good too.

Hey Box Rocket,

Do you know what your caster numbers are, running 3" of lift with the Slee plates? (I wonder if I could use them with a 2" lift)

great Landcruiser you have there, the trans and converter you have is around 9k AUD and may even go into lockup in 1st gear for low range crawling (you may need to research on the wholesale autos website)

Man, I hope so! It has handled me boosting the power just fine so far. I wish you were closer so you could check it out in person. I'm pretty sure I'm the only diesel 80 for hundreds of miles in any direction out here.

Thanks SeaJay! I had no idea that there was an option for lockup in 1st gear. I have the old purchase receipt from Wholesale. I'm going to take a quick look at it tonight and see if it mentions any of the lockup options that are on it. Thanks for the tip!

I used these, not cheep but there well made, and I like ability to be able to ajust
Wow, those look nice! So you can just adjust your caster in .5 degree increments?

Ok... I'm way more excited about this than I should be. But, I got the Landcruiser detailed yesterday and I think it turned out great! I can't believe how good the paint looks... I can see the green color, and not just swirls. And he steam cleaned the entire interior... including the headliner. Man, it's like driving a totally different vehicle! Here are probably more pics than I should post on the subject:

Sorry it took me so long to post this. Here's my alignment numbers from a few weeks back using Slee caster plates with the 3.5" Slinky lift.

So, at 2" of lift, would those plates put me at roughly 4 degrees caster? (1.5 inches lower x1.2 degrees per inch is 1.8... + 2.2 degrees that you have puts the number at 3.9 degrees) That would be on the end of the acceptable limit but still ok...

What would you think about running them on 2" of lift?

Like you said, kinda at the limit for that size lift but should work. On the upside, your could "ghost ride" the truck forever!

Haha, there's something to be said for that! You mentioned that you have 3.5" of lift on your rig. Did you buy a 75mm lift and it ended up riding a little higher than 3"? (I think GW Nugget mentioned his lift came out a little higher than 3") If that's the case, it might be good new for me. I'm interested in the 50mm Slinky setup but something a little more than a true 2" would actually be kind of nice! BTW, do you mind sharing which springs you got for your rig? (intermediate or heavy) I don't have bumpers or a winch but I still want to plan! Thanks again for the info.

4 degrees of career works really well for these rigs. Especially if running bigger tyres.

Good to know! The Slee option is sounding better and better! Hey... did you see my intercooler picture above? Have any of you diesel guys ever put an Evo intercooler into a Landcruiser before? It is really close in dimension to the HPD V2 but I have an auto with a transmission cooler to worry about... Ooo, also, I'm starting to wonder about this stock muffler situation. I've got a little one up front and big out out back. Can I just out the front one to help lower EGTs, without making my rig to loud? (for the sake of my wife) I'll post up some pictures to show what I'm talking about.

Here are some pictures of my two mufflers.

Here's the little front muffler I was considering removing: (Dark picture... sorry)

Here's the big rear magnaflow:

My hope is to lower EGTs a bit so I can bump up fuel. Any suggestions from the crowd on that?

What is your current exhaust situation, what's original, what's upgraded? Stock dump pipe, is the piping all stock sized still, or what?
