Lubricating the window

my windows squeal and rise slowly on occasion. I suspect it is time to lube the track or damage the motors. I was wondering if this is a do it yourself job, and if so, is this a good time to upgrade my speakers?

I used a can of silicon dry lube with the red hose in the nozzle. Worked the window up and down and sprayed where the glass meets the track.
