Anyone here ever put a LT1 in a 40?
Yes I tried to search did not come up with anything.
I have a 95 LT1 out of a Caprice Police car and a 700r4 out of a blazer and was thinking of putting them in my 40.
If anyone has done this please chime in.

IS the optispark going to work when going through high water and or mud?
Does the 700r4 adapter that you sell going to work with a SOA?
I am planning on using a megasquirt computer for fuel managment and spark control but the LT1 does not have provisions for the TVcable on the 700r4 How do you get around that?

The later Optispark will work fine. I have done several and had no issues with water. Of course if you go deep often you could go with an Electromotive EFI setup and bypass the bottom mounted distributor completely.
There shouldn't be any problem with a 700R4 adapter in a SOA configuration.
You will need to make a kickdown bracket yourself. Its not difficult, but the geometry is very important. get a bracket off of a car or truck and measure. I did all of these mods on this truck.

You could also look into the TCI valve bodies that do away with the TV cable..
