We are now selling Lower Control arms. Johhny Joint on the frame end, urethane bushings on the axle side, 1 1/2" 1/4" wall DOM tubing. Currently we have them in red and black but we can accommodate most color selections.

I have the square arms and I don't understand how the round are stronger. round may flex better but in the same way that you would stand a 2X4 in construction, I think the square may have a strength advantage, that is assuming they were same grade and thickness wall tubing. either way an upgrade from stock is a must for anyone who goes off pavement.

Asuming that the material being used is of the same size, say 1.5" tube and 1.5" square tube with the same wall thickness, say .250" the tube is stronger material. A tube spreads the load evenly around the tube where square tubing must spread the load through the weak points, the folds in the steel. The weak points in a square tube are the folds and generally where the tears will occur.

My guess is that .25" anything is so overkill that it doesn't matter what shape it is and you will break the thin mounts, frame, axle tube, etc before killing them.:hillbilly:

Unfortunately the design of the FJ leaves the LCAs supporting a great deal of weight far to often when going through rocky terrain. I would rather have LCAs that are "overkill" than the stock units that bend with ease.

I like shiny red things. That's a decent price for those arms.
