Just finishing up the low oil pressure switch on the 1HD-T(man that engine souds smooth) and have added the fuel pump by the fuel tank.

My concern is running the fuel pump with iginition on, I would like it to run only when the engine is running. I figured out that I could steel power from the low oil pressure switch which operates the fuel pump.

Kinda made sense that when the iginition is in the run position the pump should not be on until the engine is running? Make sense??

Just a idea and working by myself have no one to bounce ideas off of.

Maybe you could steal some power from the alternator which is probably safer than interfering with an oil pressure switch.

Would it hurt to have it running with ignition on and engine not running?
It might still circulate through the inj pump and back to the tank.
Then you would hear it working

Hello
The only way this may be done is to wire in a 5 pin relay in series with the ground from a oil pressure switch normally open and not sure about the stock switch you may have to T and add a second switch
The oil pressure switch normally open comes in many different pressure settings
You could put one in that only closes at higher oil pressure and will only operate the pump at high way speeds and shuts down at idle
Dont know if you have 12 or 24 volt system
Here is how I would wire it
Pin # 85 power from ignition should be fused or have breaker
Pin # 86 wire to oil pressure switch (ground)
Pin # 30 B+ constant power from battery should also have inline fuse or breaker
Pin # 87 to fuel pump hot lead (power) should have inline fuse
Fuel pump gronded to frame
Can also be wired
Pin # 30 constant ground from battery
Pin # 87 to fuel pump ground
Pins # 85 & 86 the same as above
Power from ignition to fuel pump with inline fuse
Fuel pump must be well isolated from ground
Hope that helps
waaz
