If you have your CCW (carry) permit, there is a Low Light class on July 30th at the West Memphis SWAT range. Ronin Combat Strategies will be teaching with Jason Redding and Jason "Jabo" Long as the primary instructors.

The Low Light classes are the best classes as in the real world most engagements occur at night...and let's be honest you just can't go to the range and ask them to turn out the lights.

I have taken this class two times and love it, you will be doing a lot of drawing and firing, reloading drills, movement drills, working with flashlights, and weapon mounted lights.

This is a high intensity class and your skills will be improved. You will leave a better shooter than you came in...no doubt.

You will need a pistol, at least five magazines, 500 - 600 rounds, holster, at least two magazine carriers, a backup flashlight, and I definitely recommend a weapon mounted light.

Shoot me a PM but, I hope some of you choose to attend...as my Dad always says there are two types of gun owners...gun owners and gunfighters...it's better to be a gunfighter!

Let me know if you are interested and I will facilitate getting you setup for the class.

Cheers.

Dang! I wish I could go but I'll be freshly married at that point and I don't think she'll let me leave her for a day on our first weekend together in Memphis. Keep me posted for later events!

Is this a night class or a daytime class? I'm working til noon that Saturday, but would love to attend if it's a pm class. What's the fee for the class?

I don't have a weapon mounted light, just my carry weapons and my light. :(

Whatcha got Todd?

Smith & wesson sw9f 9mm. Bought it when I worked at RPS(now fed ex ground) Back in 95,96. I have hunting stuff 270( hate)TCI .50 muzzle loader which I prefer to hunt with. Mosburg 12 gauge duck/turkey gun.

It is a PM class, the last one started around 8:00pm and we went until around 2:00am or so. This is a true low-light class! The classes are usually under $200 and well worth it.

Todd, I can hook you up with a rifle and a pistol...if you would like to come to the class you can shoot my Glock 19. I have over 20 mags for it, holsters, lights, etc. and that would get you shooting and give you experience with a polymer pistol. I recommend H&K's, S&W M&P's, Glocks, and any 1911 frame pistol...I have all of those and you are more than welcome to shoot any and or all of them.

Also, if you are interested I have a Bushmaster AR-15 for sale as well...it's kitted out with an EoTech holographic weapon sight, forward grip, pop-up BUIS, and a Surefire weapon light. I am selling it because I am buying another SBR (7.5) in 6.8SPC and I only have so much room in the condo for AR's. I will post a pictureof it I'm the classifieds tomorrow.

Cheers.

It's a night class...so, you may be able to get away with it. Shoot she may want you out of the house...you never know...and you can always bring her.

For those that don't run weapon lights...the first time I took the class, I ran my weapon without a weapon light to simulate how I normally carry. Thus, I just used my Surefire E1L...which I always carry. It was a really good training opportunity to shoot and use a hand held flashlight at the same time. I highly recommend taking the time to train in that manner. A low-light conflict is probably the most likely situation you will face and being versed in using your flashlight and weapon in harmony is paramount.

For under $200, I'm in!

I know the guys who put these on usually like the Glocks for reliability, but since I carry a compact 1911, might bring that.

As long as you have the mags and the holster...your good to go.

Price is $190, just confirmed.

Todd, if you want to take this class...I can talk to Jason and get you in...since you're a firefighter I am sure he would be cool...and you can use my Glock setup...

I have a couple firearms you could use also, Todd. Just PM me and we can discuss.

My wish list is a ar15 and a new pistol. I have no clue what to get.

in the pistol line you can't go wrong with sig sauer, I'm no gun expert but I like my P228 in 9mm. I think they make a P229 in 40, 357 and 45.

Just bought a P229 beater off Gunbroker. It's an earlier one made in West Germany, supposedly the attention to detail was better back in the day. Anyhow, plan is to deliver it down to our friends at Birdsong to get it Black T'd (thinking black over dark earth?), put some Trijicons on it and keep it til they plant me.

Yes I like my old P228. I think I might buy the P229 in 357, the next time I just have to spend money on guns.

That P239 I have has both a .40 barrel and a .357 Sig barrel. Right now it's loaded with .357 Sig and is living in my bedside safe...
