Has anyone had trouble with their visors? I put mine down and when I try to put it back up it falls down again.  Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this problem?

chewing gum?

new visor?

Put some type of clear tape around the spindle on the visor to increase its diameter?

how about this.................tighten the screw that holds the visor head to the arm......takes all of 2 seconds :D

I don't see this screw on my 97. The only ones I see are the two holding the visor arm to the headliner.

I had the same problem and saw no way of taking the swing mechanism apart w/o destroying it. A new one costs too much so I just took mine off and curse when the sun is in my eyes.

I would have sworn they had a screw......maybe it was my fj60 i was thinking of.......or my 92 fj80

Pimp, you're not crazy. I thought the same thing, until I went and looked...not there on my 94....I'd bet all your older ones are that way, though. My Mustangs were...

Mine slips down too. Starting to piss me off. If it gets really bad, I suppose a guy could fab a bracket/clamp to tighten it down.

edit.... regarding clamp: I just mean a small bolt, nut and 2 washers to put some pressure across the rod.

Cruiserpart.net might be the best bet outside of a new one. There was also a guy parting out an 80 in the parts section a few weeks ago. May want to dig through there.
