I have armored LC200 with stock suspension. I would like to beef up the springs or suspension....Its a company car. So the expense was theirs. I'd be paying for the upgrades myself so please lets stick to budget items (:p I know people read "armored" and think lotsa money) I spend alot of time on the freeways and would like a little less body roll....

confirmed Garth, Slee OME

Yeah I checked the site that was recommended...Yet they all have lift...I want my car to look as stock as possible and have 0" lift.
If someone can just give me the name and model numbers I'd buy the stuff right now.

jcmiro - where are you located at? We use 4 different brands when we are building our armored cars depending on what the customer is looking for or willing to pay.

Dont forget with an armored car if you eliminate all the roll and bounce, there will be other parts beginning to fail.

Same goes with sway bars and I designed a bum-stop system for the rear to stop that "thud" noise they all have when you go over a big bump or tank tracks.

Did they not already match the suspension to the new vehicle characteristics during the armoring process?

Body roll is going to be unavoidable in a SUV with 2 inch glass but if it's unbearable check the KDSS valves are closed.

Im in Lima, Peru.....The armoring packages offered here are some what limited...The company says the suspension is fine with the added weight, because I'm a one person family (two if you count my driver) They offered some 18,000US upgraded brake and suspension package, but only recommended it if I wanted the blast resistance metal base plate...(no assassination danger here, only kidnapping, so I declined)

So back to the springs.....What stiffer springs with 0" lift would fit the LC200?

Do you have the weight of your armored TLC - and do you know it its BR/FB4 or BR/FB6 (NIJ III)?

I'll get you a parts number and price list today for our springs. Majority of ours are made by either Ironman, Dobison, Riman, and a few others but each armored company will have it configured for their needs. (so your curb weight will be needed)

I would suggest going with the Icon coilovers. They are designed around desert racing technology and it will eliminate all body roll and brake dive due to the dynamic valving in the coilover. While an OME strut is a good upgrade it is a nitrogen charged shock with no room for adjustability. Also with the Icon coilover you can adjust the ride height from 0" - 3.5" of ride height by raise or lowering the adjuster collar on the spring.
