looking for reputable machine shop.

Hi everyone!

My name is Dan and I have an 84 fj60 and am looking at restoring it next year. I am planning on pulling the engine during the resto and rebuilding it. I checked compression and it's essentially running on 4 cylinders.

I was wondering if anyone had a good experience with a local machine shop? Prefferably in the western 'burbs especially in the St. Charles area. I want to do the assembly myself but get the head rebuilt @ the machine shop.

Do you know if they do the machine work there or if it's contracted out?

What work have you had done there?

The aurora shop has the machine shop there. The Naperville store sends the work there. I've had a set of cam bearings pressed in recently. I had a 1fz head rebuilt there, but I think it was a different guy at the time.
