Hey guys, I have a need. My fathers 1986 SR5 ext cab 4x4 was stolen a couple years ago and is now just starting a search for another truck. Any leads would be appreciated....We are looking for a 1986-1997 Toyota 4x4 extended cab pick up in very good condition. He would also settle for a Chevy extended cab 4x4.He has under 8k to spend. Send me what you have, I know I may be asking a lot for under 8k... 4coens@comcast.net. I posted a photo of the truck prior to being stolen. It was recovered but she was a total loss (engine blown and stripped). Any help would be appreciated...

Craigslist is where its at. search throughout the years, and be patient.

Thanks for the quick reply...We are trying there too. Just trying to see if we can find something under the radar so to speak. Expanding our search. As you can imagine, even after 2 years my father is sick of the thought of someone stealing his truck. It was a nice one too!

I would watch the classifieds on marlin crawler, they usually have modded vehicles but stock ones pop up now and then, also you have a wide year range so it shouldn't be hard to find something.

Craigslist is the place. There's a tan 85 extra cab SR5 4x4 (try Spokane, WA CL). Not exactly what you want but darn close.

I've got one just like that but white. High mileage but tons of stuff has been replaced with genuine toyota parts. AC compressor, Alternator, throttle position sensor, idler arm, tie rods, AC properly converted R134a - ice cold, replaced most of the emission lines and vacuum lines too, o2 sensor, most of the hoses in the engine compartment, full tune up with toyota parts, replaced exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. There is so much other stuff I've replaced or have to go with the truck i can't remember it all but have 99% of documentation. I worked at a Toyota dealer ship and took advantage of the cheap parts for everything. I had all the fluids, brake, all diffs, transfer case and trans swapped out in the fall. Windows have high quality legal tint. Installed a nice set of bucket seats from another pickup and they look and feel great.
This truck came from Southern Utah and doesn't have ONE lick of rust on it. I had the bed coated and they did it the right way. I have factory brake parts for the front a rears to go with it. Tires are at the end of their life. Maybe 5K miles left. Maybe 3k. Very nice truck and everything works. 243K miles and running great.
