Looking for NE wheeling and family camping location

OK, this is key. Our LX450 is being rebuilt after being hit in front of our house by a DD. The insurance $$$ will be paying for swapping lockers and I plan to add a winch the naked ARB bar as well as a IPOR rear. I would like to find a location for some decent wheeling and camping in the NE USA in order to introduce the family the "great outdoors". Any ideas would be appreciated.

The Gotham event looks awesome but I will be out-of-country during the event.
What about the George Washington Forest ?

GWNF is a long drive if you're talking about the trails west of Harrisonburg. The trails are mild but there's a nice campground, Brandywine, on the state line between VA and WV, just off 33.

The Pig Run will be held at Rausch Creek in September and the Fall Crawl will be there in early October.
