I'm helping out the FJC club (Smokey Mountain Cruisers) find out some information about the Pisgah National Forest area.
I've only been up there to fish and mountain bike. All the "trails" is saw were relatively tame fire roads and the only OHV area I'm aware of is Brown Mountain. I've been told that Brown Mtn caters to ATV's and there is little, if anything for "us". But, that was a while ago and when I was much less aware of off-roading areas. When we spent a weekend up there (7 years ago) and it was beautiful but didn't really have any off-roading of any difficulty.
If you have anything to share, I'd appreciate it. I know that I've seen some posts on other forums that discuss some trails of "questionable legality" which I'd obviously not want to invite/encourage a group of FJC's to come down to run. And, I'd want to have them understand if such trails that they may have been led to believe are legal but are not.
Thanks in advance for any info...
