Hi Guys,

I'm new to the site and joined at the recommendations of one of your members. I've got a FJ55 restoration/conversion project about ready to start (I also said that 3 years ago :-) and have collected most parts for the Chevy 305/700R4 conversion. I have clean doors, fenders, and most parts except the body I had planned to use had the rear quarter panels rusted out by rain soaked pack rat s***! Really, they turned the place into their very own Hilton and used the quarter panel for their latrine. Only one of the very few of the earths creatures I've come to hate.

So, I'm looking for a body that has no rust as a starter, instead of trying to repair what I have. I'll go that route if I must, but since it may be several months before I actually start on her, I figured maybe there's a pig out there that's been cleaned down to the bone and needs hauling away......for a few bucks of course or trade.

I also need an FJ60 power steering gear, steering column hardware to the gear and tie rod ends for FJ55 power steering. Any advise on what to use for power steering would be appreciated. From what I've read the FJ60 mod is the best and easiest way to go.

Thanks

Tucson Marsh

Hey Marshall,
Finally getting around to working on your project Pig. Good deal. I can attest first hand to the handy work of the pack rats around your place. It took me forever, ffffoorrreeevvveeerrrr, to get all the rat crap cleaned out of that red n white 55. I stripped the interioroand used the shop vac in every nook and cranny of that truck. Then I hand washed the interior floors, mats and walls several times. Took apart the seats, venting, heaters, everything. I hate those little effers. Hopefully it'll pay off soon. The truck is road worthy but just needs to pass emissions.

Make sure you check under the Toyota Tech tab, Crusier Registry section, at the bottom is the Iron Pig Preservation Society. That where all the Pig owners post FS information. Posting up there might get you some responses. I'll let you know if I see anything pop up locally.

Best of luck on the project, keep us posted.
