Hi Guys,

Im, thinking of running swamp lake (near Fresno in California) in about two weeks with my brother. We both have armored and locked 80s, mine is on 37s with a 6" lift and his is on 35s with a 2.5" suspension + 2" body lift. I've ready a lot of stuff saying that the trail is best for short wheel base rigs, looking for advice from anyone on the forum on how difficult this trail is for an 80 series.

Anyone ran this trail recently, how bad is it in an 80 series?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Haha, thanks for the reply, better late than never. I've run swamp 2 times in my cruiser and once in my 4runner. I wouldn't worry about taking an 80 thru swamp, but dusy is another story. Swamp and dusy are similar, but dusy is significantly harder because its non stop rocks. Also, dusy has much harder obstacles. Additionally, on swamp, between technical sections, you can pick up some speed. Once Dusy, once you start Thompson hill it's all rocks until the end for the most part. The average speed on dusy is a lot slower in my opinion.

Swamp lake is my favorite trail of all time, I dont see myself doing dusy for another several years.

I will be up there during Thanksgiving, but i think the trail will be closed at that time of the year.
