need some help guys.

I am looking for a set of 8 lugs wheels /15's or even two. better yet where can I get'em cheap?

I am putting a 14 bolt on the rear of my 40 and still leaving the cruiser front axel(6lugs) for now.

if anybody knows about somebody having them, let me know do I can can in contact w/ them.

if can get them 8 lugs/15's wheels, I will buy a pair of 8 lugs adapters for the cruiser front axel (6 bolt pattern)

any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

donation are certainly welcome too!

JP,
Not sure if you've checked this or not but make sure your 15" wheels will clear the brakes on that 14 bolt. Since it's 8 lug, I assume it's out of a 1 ton and the brake drums may be too big for you to get a 15" wheel around. IIRC alot of the older GM 1 ton stuff had 16.5 wheels.

edit: I just did a quick ebay search and didn't find any 8 lug 15's. I'd suggest looking for some 16" or 17" 8 lug wheels and getting a pair of 8 lug to 6 lug adapters for the front. Hopefully when you get your front axle it'll have the same bolt pattern as the rear..... if not you'll want adapters for one or the other.

I'm runnin' 8 lug 15's on my 14 bolt, MRT sells 'em, ... used 3/4 ton brakes instead of the one-ton stuff so they'd clear. Heard you could grind on the 1 ton stuff and make 'em clear as well.

Gonna have to shave the hell off the bottom of that pumpkin JP ... damn thangs hang down like a bulldozer blade.

Carry on. :grinpimp:

mike I am doing a disc conversion at the same time w/ a 3/4 ton front rotors(d44 8 lug) so 15 in rims will fit. The only question is the bach spacing.

kowboy do you know the back spacing on your rims?

I know it's kind of a too technical question for you but may you remember.

I am still pending on the shaving of the 14 bolt.

Bryan I saw the links and thanks! I appreciate the help.

one thing I noticed was the back space was 4.25" I am leaning towards the 10 in wide rim.

I don't know much about this (back space) and since the choices at this time are limited I might have to order these ones.

the 14 bolt is one of the narrow ones about an 1 inch or so bigger then the cruiser(40) axel

Why not run the 6 lug D44 hubs/rotors?

"Why not run the 6 lug D44 hubs/rotors?"

DWB like it says there "a disc conversion" this disc conversion is in a 14 bolt". The rotors & calipers are for front diff d44 8lug These will bolt onto the plate on the 14 bolt. May you thought it's the front.

"Ain't gotta clue.

You can measure it in Clayton."

Kowboy by then it will be too late! I am trying to(like they say) get'er it done before Clayton and drive her not tow it.

if not I will take the bus to clayton and walk the trails Je! je!

Too little is probably better than too much. Least ways thats my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I agree with Fireman ...

Besides ...

If they stick out too far you could just put some curb feelers on it ... ain't them big with Mes'kins?? :flipoff2:

:flamingo:

I don't know what are the curb feelers. I will have to assume you are referring to them silver

shiny things on the fenders. if you are referring to them I'll have to agree w/ you.

I have seen a lot of cars and trucks w/ 'em

I don't like 'em. I am more of the leopard dash board cover and the dies Ja! ja!

I still have a lot of details pending but I can have it done between now and March 17.

I am also looking for a cheap detroit locker for the 14 bolt since it disengage.

I have seen the spools for $ 145.00 but I am still undecided since my truck is street friendly.

I have never driven any truck w/ a spool so I am not too sure how it handles on the street. I hear that when wet it's easy to loose traction. Since my kids will ride will me, I am affraid of an accident.

any input to make the right decision will help and will be appreciated.

Thanks!
