hi all. been a while since i posted here. i've been working on my son's bronco and i've think i've finally gotten to the point i can trail test it. i'm looking for something mild around the grant's mill area in birmingham. with all that land i figured there has to be something mild i can test the bronco on.

it's been fun to play with, but getting the rear pinion angle correct has been a challenge. apologizes for being in a toyota forum. i still have my FZJ80 as my dd. thanks.

Dang. I know of nothing legal that way.
Stoney Lonesome really isn't too far away... Exit 299 then another 7 miles west. That, to me is close. Especially considering it's huge. And plenty for a stock 4x4.
I'd be willing to go!

thanks for the reply. we're going to try and get there at some point. just should probably stay off the highway for now until i get a chance to replace the inner tie rod. looser than the prom queen.

PLEASE post a pic of your 97... PLEASE!!!
dark blue?! CE?! Locked?! (OK, the factory locked I do not desire...) but the blue... it's what I want!

I think theres some power line ROW in that area.

I wouldn't get on them. Been hearing a lot about folks getting issued tickets lately. Even Gardendale is seemingly gone now. Laws. Like w're supposed to follow them! pfft!

20 years ago there was over 100 miles of trails. Reclaimed strip mined land is now Liberty Park and Birmingham water works has posted every square inch of their land. Power line roads are off limits also. Barber Motor Sports has taken a huge amount of property. Not much if any left.

Originally it was US Steel property and they didn't care. That has changed a lot. The strip mined land was reclaimed using tax dollars so developers could build the small, cheap houses in Liberty Park.

here's a pic of my 80 all cleaned up. also, there are no recovery points of the front of the bronco. if we stay on the mild trails at stoney lonesome will that be an issue? the plan is to put on a real front bumper with recovery points but the money hasn't fallen out of the sky yet. thanks.

Is that CE that is blue?! If you have tan interior and will not sell it to me, please do not come looking at the motor-house when you walk out and its gone!
Seriously... If you EVER consider selling it...

Btw, I'm sitting in Hawk Pride OHV camp right now, and there are PLENTY of trails out here for stock cruisers

Seriously. I have never even heard of a CE being blue... Although it would make sense since they made the CE's in all the colors but they got the two-toned wheels!
They were all at the end of life for the 80, being made while they were already making 100's... But you may very well have the only blue one.
We need to meet up for lunch one day and let me see how I look in the drivers seat!

thanks for the kind words about the CE. its got the grey interior. i got her around 150K, i've done most of the PM except the PHH and rear arch seal. those projects are coming up. i'm at around 180K now and she's still doing well. i was lucky to find a rust free locked version without the factory roof rack and spoiler.

I'm not sure you understand the seriousness that is being conveyed in speeders posts. He REALLY wants a blue one, like REALLY REALLY. Just know if the time comes, he would like be your first and likely only call.

They are serious that I am serious! LOL.

As far as Stony... YES. Take the Bronco and the 80. They will both do well out there. The majority is liken to un-improved dirt roads.
We need to have another group ride out there soon.
Let me know whenever you wanna go, and I'll head up in the motor-house and camp. Love the group that runs that park.
