i keep hitting the pintle on the ground during ascents. going to pull it along with the bumpers. doesn't anyone make a simple bolt on plate that would accept a shackle in place of the pintle? I sure can't find one.

spressomon makes frame recovery brackets that are very strong and accept a shackle. I think he is about to do another run. Shoot him a PM. Shipping may be an issue to japan though.

The recovery points that Spresso makes are sized to bolt on to the 80's and 100's frame, and they hang down from the frame when used as designed. However, they might still work for you mounted sidewayson a frame rail . Another vendor, Expedition Exchange, also sells universal recovery points that are well made - Expeditionware Backing Plate (address below). I have both these and Spresso's, and they are equivalent in quality.

It is that vendor, but look for Dixon-Bate on the left side "brand" list.

Is this what you are looking for?

That is what I'm looking for and I found one similar to that here in Japan. I want something like that but way beefier. The shackle should fit with little play on a thicker plate with more surface length for the weld. The one in the pic would get bent up pretty quick if used for a good pull at an angle.

is the pictured attached to a stock bumper?

Check the rear of a '94 era Mitsubishi Montero. I have no idea what this recovery point's load limit is, but the Montero is no small rig. Mounting one of these with a backing plate would help strengthen it.

You can get a $4 bolt on recovery point from any junk yard off a montero. Very similar to the one maxxraven has shown.
