Years ago the late Bobby Long made some great DIY beadlocks in limited production runs. I liked the anti-coning ring in particular. I've been out of the loop for some time, but has anyone picked up that design or is anyone making something similar?

Thank for the help!

Anyone know how much this kit costs? IMHO, might not be worth it to make your own when you can buy Allied steel beadlocks for not much more.

Ballistic and others have the DIY kits for about $60 a wheel depending how fancy you want them. $300 plus some welding wire and gas for 5 bead lock rims is 'bout all I can afford. I just can't find any that have Bobby's anti-coning rings... Wonder we could talk Metal Tech into making them :-)

Total Metal Innovations has probably the most affordable anti-coning beadlocks. Or you can use a V-belt with a standard set of beadlock rings if you wanted to save a bit more money

FWIW I didn't use any anti-coning and I have about 3/8" along the insides of the rings. The outer ring has coned obviously, but I'm not worried in the least about it.

I just used some 3/16 x1/2 or 3/4 flatbar welded to the inner ring to stop the ring from coning
