So I had some power-steering problems with my truck, took it to Longo since I used to trust them. My SA was David Funk, usually I try to get Man Wong but I didn't have an appointment. It was all good until he left a message saying " Dont get angry when you see your car, we broke the snorkel." I got furious when I heard those words. I rushed down and asked for the manager, she was nice took a look at the damage and understood what I was so angry about. She told me that Longo Lexus will pay for a new snorkel, it still doesn't make it right, I always decline the wash and even told him, no wash before I left, don't think he heard me. He put it through the wash anyway, I looked at my rear and still saw mud/dirt and was like you didn't even finish, It's not the pursuit of perfection but the pursuit of imperfection. Then she took $200 off my bill. All my previous SA's know not to take my LX in for a wash, look at the snorkel it won't fit.

Note: This is what a previous SA said about my Snorkel;

The damage is not that bad but I still have to order and wait about week to get the new part and it looks horrible with zip ties, lol

The snorkel tube is intact, the scoop got bent and the grill was broken.

I would not mind if this happened while wheeling it but I declined the wash, arrr

Man, mistakes happen. Looks like the dealership is doing everything they should. Chill.

MISTAKES happen, but this would have been avoided if they had just LISTENED to you. That is a major part of the problem these days with customer service. I agree though, they are making it right without a fight. I hope the new parts look the same as the current snorkel.

If the top scoop piece was only damaged, you can buy a replacement for about $70.

At least their dealing with it professionally..

No one is perfect but be happy their dealing with it in a pro manner.

Cable ties make it look like you might actually use it...

Just to jump on the bandwagon here, calm down. Everyone makes mistakes (or do you believe you are perfect?). The dealer couldn't have handled it any better. They called you and told you ahead of time, they apologized, they said they will fix it, and they took $200 off your bill. What else do you want?

Many dealers would have not called you, and then told you when you discovered it that they are not responsible for damage to modifications on your vehicle.

Thats what I'm so happy about but I told him I don't want a wash and he put it through anyway and I think I was very fair about what I said, I'm not mad but horrified by how stupid they where.

I DON"T THINK I SAID THERE NOT HANDLING IT I SAID THEY WHERE. + the only reason I put it up because it kinda funny.

Whoa! Don't back pedal any faster or you'll throw your chain off.
Is a snorkel on your Lexus SUV in SoCal like 20's on your Escalade?

And it should be "they're" not "there" in that sentence. Stop texting in English class.

NOTE TO SELF...

NEVER whine about a broken snorkle in a MUD thread.. especially if an offer is made to pay for it by the guilty party ;)

It could`ve been a lot worse.. trust me, I`ve seen some horrible things happen to customers vehicles over the years !!

NEVER whine about a blown front diff in a MUD thread.. especially if an offer is made to pay for it by Toyota ;)

Fixed it for you.

so you are getting a new snorkle and $200 off your bill, thats not bad. I've had my troubles with Longo in the past, they took care of problems pretty quickly to my satisfaction.

LOL,

I ordered a new air-ram from Man-a-Fre coming in tommorow. This is my fourth incident with them but they always try to make it up and I always go back, so my mistake.

I am selling the old air-ram for $25 plus s&h.

o yeah, having a Snorkel in Southern California is like having 32's on your Escalade.
