what kinda life people are expecting from the V-8 and the drivetrain of your trucks.

You know what you'll enjoy the most about swapping to the 100? All the numerous 80 squirks are GONE. The improved design of the 100 eliminated them. Some are:

*Overheating
*Power steering pump noises and failure issues
*Power windows slowing/quitting
*Creaky and noisy sun roofs
*Poor braking
*Weak steering while off-roading (turning in the rocks and up ledges)
*Checking the oil (I run Mobile1 and at 140K have never added any oil in between changes. Not the case with the/my 80's.)

I never got a chance to post the pictures of my new to me 100 so here it is. Thanks for all the input that led to my purchase. Im VERY happy with it.

Great color, & welcome to 100 ownership!

I've had mine since last September and like it more all the time. Enjoying it stock for now (soaking up the cush factor) but eventually I'll do what most do-- unbolt the running boards & add sliders, put on 285's, a 2" lift, and a diff drop, and start finding more difficult terrain.

Are they perfect? No, but they might be as close to perfect as
any 4x4 out there!

JML403 those look like 16" wheels..... Does you wife want to trade for my 18" wheels? :D

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the Hundy section! :flipoff2:

I've had several 80 series including a TRD supercharged one and one 100 series. I've had my 100 for seven years and love it more every day. It is head and shoulders above the 80s I had for comfort, convenience and day to day use. The 80s was narrower and would go places I won't take the 100, but for my use, the 100 wins. Next step would be a 200, but it is hard to let the 100 go...
