Jon...any finalized route for the post-Moab return to GJ? Might be interested in coming down Sat and returning with the BCC contingent.
Jim

P.S. Great song with the "Long Way Home" title by Tom Waits. His version is the best but Norah Jones also does a killer take. Check ITunes, You Tube, etc.

I'd like to see us go south around the La Sals having done the north side several times including last Sunday and next Thursday.

Yeah, Thinking of doing a southern route, I'm checking conditions, unfortunately the routes that would be the most interesting are most likely covered in snow. Thinking of traversing the southern La Sals and heading through Y11 road to Uravan, lunch in Gateway.

Option 2 would be to do two year's ago's route, by crossing the Dolores (currently at 200cfs) and heading up over glade park.

I'll send a club email out before I leave Including info about breakfast. Ace, are you still good with doing breakfast at your site? I think it will have the most room for the group.

If anyone has specific Ideas about a route let me know. Honestly it has always been something that was formulated during the week of CM in year's past.

Or how bout the Long Way Round? :D

I missed the ship last year but I am in for the Long Way Home trip this year. I will be down Thursday or Friday evening. Hopefully Thursday if work cooperates.

Sorry for the very late notice on this, I have been out of good data service for the week. The BCC Crew had a blast on the Kokopelli and everything wen't well. We are looking forward to making it a regular part of the BCC repertoire. HUGE thanks to Ace Brown and Matt Burmaster for their assistance. The diner and breakfast were perfect and I really think helped to bring the already great event to a new level. I think it will become one of Cruise Moab's runs that sells out in the first day of registration.

For those of you who would like to join us for breakfast and a quick monthly meeting, we will be serving at 9:30am at Slick Rock Campground in Moab, Site 136/137. After breakfast, we will have a very short monthly meeting. Please RSVP so we know approximately how much to make. We hope to see you there!

After breakfast we plan on departing for the third annual Long Way Home, We will make our way back to Grand Junction via DIRT!. We plan to drive and easy, stock friendly route the flanks of the La Sal Mountains to highway 141 in the Gateway/Uravan area, grab a good burger at the Paradox Grill in Gateway, then return home via the scenic highway 141 to Grand Junction. We hope be home by late afternoon.

Jonathan

Fun run through some interesting and new to me countryside. Hope to get back there soon and explore further. Stopped at Gateway Lodge for lunch and learned that this trophy truck is available for lessons leading to some time behind the wheel or for $250 you can ride shotgun for four laps. Having raced in Baja back in the 70s I have never gotten over the "need for speed" and even though I'd love to drive it, my budget says a ride is good enough.
