Anyone replaced a 2000 model A-trac rear diff with a '98 or '99 factory locking rear differential? Wanting to know if it would be worth the trouble.

It's doable, but would be easiest with a whole new axle IMO. You won't have the wiring either way I don't think... if that's the case I'd honestly just do an air locker.

Basically, either you need to swap the full axle and add the additional brake lines, or grind out the housing and add a elocker and different axle. I can find used elocker axles for well under $1,000 making it cost effective. However, maybe a handful of people have done this (if that) and there are no "how-tos". There is a how-to for the 80 series, which is similar procedure.

There's also plenty how-to's for 3rd Gen 4Runners (maybe newer too) and early Tacos. If you're serious about it I'd start there to get an idea of the cutting on the hosing that will be required for the actuator.
I look forward to see how it works on your 200. I still want to do this.
