lock ring pliers or nap ring pliers?

gathering tools fro knuckle rebuild. so far i have:

hub socket 2 1/8 from craftsman
brass driffs
torque wrench
BFH
fish scale

I do not know weather to buy snap ring or lock ring pliers. lock ring pliers are flat while snap ring come with several round toothpick looking attachments. from pics of snap ring on hub it looks like lock ring pliers would work best, but what do i know.

Snap ring pliers will do nothing other than frustrate you because you are trying to use them on a retainer that they were not designed to work on.

Some of the Warn kits had snap rings. But typically you can use the flat variet on the warn snap ring style...

horseshoe lock ring pliers specifically made for that application are cheap and will make you smile every time you use them.

A seal puller like in step two will make the axle seal go a lot better and the hub seal easier too.
