I'm getting new speakers and a USA Spec iPhone/Aux device integrator installed and I have a couple of questions (I have read many of the threads on this topic already too). My first questions relate to the USA Spec. The model I'm getting will have a dedicated input for the iPhone (which I'm using solely as an iPod, NOT for phone calls or nav apps, satellite apps, etc.). I will have this go into the glove box or the center console. It also has an input (either RCA or headphone type, I forget) that I can use for my actual phone (non-apple) or a satellite radio. I'm am wondering the best brand/type/location for the device I'll plug into this input. I've seen the proclips that go by the vents, but I don't want to block my vent. Does anyone have any thoughts on the proclips that go on the outside of the console? Will proclips hold devices other than iPhones? Does anyone know of any products that use or adapt to the ash tray??

Also, If the install is able to remove the CD changer (I don't know if I'll have to keep the changer), does anyone know of any parts/products that will let me use the space where the changer used to be?

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Also tons of info on the USA Spec unit on searches, it's a popular mod here.

Thanks for the reply. Note that I did search and I did read a good portion of the many threads on this (which is how I decided on the USA Spec unit). I was looking for particular thoughts on the location for the ProClip (or alternatives) and whether anyone had mounted their phone in the ash tray. I didn't see this in the threads.

The links you sent w/r/t the console bin were very helpful--thanks.

I have a 2004 LC just like you, and I bought both of the "custom" Pro Clip dashboard mounts for the LC.

Here is the a picture of my LC with the Pro Clip that is up next to the dashboard and Nav screen.

I started by putting a RAM iPhone mount on this, but quickly found out it was a bad location. It blocked the air vent, but worse I hit the phont/mount with my hand while driving on occasion. I've since moved my iPhone mount to the lower right Pro Clip mount, and used the upper left one for my CB microphone mount. I don't have any updated photos, but can take some this week if you would like.

Hope that is helpful.
