My CEL (check engine light)came on while driving back from Lake Tahoe to SF bay area.. So, I did the homework, searched the internet for OBD II, and I'm still confused as to where the OBD socket is located. Is it in the engine compartment next to the air cleaner or is it underneath the dashboard by the steering colum??? I haven't checked the dashboard location, but the one in the engine compartment has different socket configuration. It doesn't have the normal 16 pins. Please help... Thank you.

Here's the OBD socket configuration in the engine compartment...

In my '99 LX470 the connector seems to be inside the vehical, on the driver side, under the instrument panel on the right side of the steering column. See if yours is at the same place.

The inside one is just above the accelerator pedal. My CEL came on just the other day. P0135 and P0155, O2 sensor heater circuit, Bank 1 & 2, Sensor 1 (ahead of the cat). What's the chance of both going bad at the same time? I've reset it once, and it came back a few days later. I guess I'll replace one and see if that fixes the problem. 117k miles on my 2000 LC.

Your OBD II hookup is under the driver side dash.

My 98 has it under the hood-at least that is what it states on the cover.

Haven't looked on the LX470, but I know that the 80 series have it both under the dash and under the hood. Either can be used.
