OK, I am about the transform the bits on the FJ80 over to the HDJ80. The girlfriend is requesting that a fit a backup camera on the FJ80. Thoughts? I don't mind doing it, but I just put a double-din headunit in it, and now that the screen will be mounted on the dash. Thoughts?

Does your double din not have an option for camera input?

No, it doesn't

Well if you want it to all be in the same place to avoid another thing on the WS, i'd remove the one in there and put one in that can support a back up camera.

Other than that the options are a mirror that does it or a mount on the WS.

IMHO there isn't anything wrong with any of those its just up to your personal taste.

If it is something new'ish it should have a back up cam video iput.

I would have thought so also but it must not be so.

20 of 20 Kenwood 2 din systems on crutchfield have back up camera inputs, 16 have a second. Maybe a couple years ago it was different.

You have to buy the cameras btw - receivers just have inputs.

I have 2 cameras and 2 flip up motorized screens that I plan to install onto the dash of my 80 in a couple of weeks. One for the front pointing down to see rocks over a hill and the other for the rear. Factory Toyota switches to turn them on and off.

I installed a back-up camera on the Tacoma last week. Wish I had a front one!

I lost the damn mic though, somewhere, so still waiting on that coming via Amazon :( I'm to lazy to put it together and take it back apart.

Current situation !
