local tow Receiver Hitch? also thanks for the help N' sorry for leaving you all hanging

hey guys sorry about leaving you all hanging to those who were posting in my thread "looking for a car."
life happened real hard and i got busy with a job transfer.

well anyways i got all that sorted and am now at DVT Deer valley airport.

one of my friends sold me their 2002 4Runner soccer mom edition so i got my vehicle sorted and promptly took it off on a fire road trip on 74A up by the grand canyon to go look at some free property offered to me.

shes a solid truck but now i need a tow bar for her. anyone have preference or suggestions for a tow bar model?

i would like to get one local but if i can get it here this week online ill go that route

Are you talking about a tow bar to tow your 4Runner or a tow hitch to tow a trailer? Tow bar will be harder to find since not many people tow their SUV. Usually motor home owners. Tow hitch should be easy to locate at a salvage/wrecking/recycle yard. Most 3rd gen had a tow hitch and plenty of them have been totaled and being parted.

@luzercruiser Might check this one out. It looks like the one on my 99 4Runner which was port installed like almost all the hitches on 3rd gen. 4Runners. Tow hitch Tacoma 4runner


Here is the kit I used to replace the trailer light wiring that was bad. Amazon.com: Hopkins 43415 Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Kit: Automotive Pretty much plug and play.

Thinking of upgrading to kit that uses a fused circuit for the trailer lights. Amazon.com: CURT 56146 Wiring Taillight Converter: CURT: Automotive This one will require more work including cutting into the factory wiring if you don't have a trailer light plug already installed.
