I just want to take a second and let everyone know that I've had very positive experiences dealing with Julian Garate (The Powder Man) in Sparks.

I took him my 40 frame in August. He and his crew blasted it and powder coated it for $250. They masked off all the threads and plugged the threaded holes so there's no need to chase threads.

I was impressed so a month later, I took him my tub and every last bit of sheet metal I had and he stripped every bit of it with ruby garnet for $300.

Yesterday, I dropped off all the remaining tin work, brackets, engine mounts, radiator shroud, bell housing, steering column, driveshafts, brake brackets, locking hubs, gauge bezel, glovebox door, etc. and he is charging me $180 to do the whole lot in three different colors of powder.

I really want to spread the word as I find it rare these days that I walk out of a place feeling like I got a lot for my money.

You can see photos of his work in my restoration thread in my signature.

Garate the Powder Man Rocks

I have been using him for years. His price is very reasonable and the work quality is second to none. For a while there he was behind on his work because he bit off more than he could chew doing some farming equipment work but he was very honest with his time line and got the work done as he promised.

He is the ONLY shop I trust and take my sandblasting and Powder coating to.

Try him and you will see why.:)
