i live in fl and my son is up in alexandria at school with a 2000 LC. his truck needed some work done on it and i just want to let everyone know about ryan bascom (user name; belowdeckfab) from * * * * * * * * * * * * On The Road Again Mobile Mechanic - Home and what a great job he did. he was extremely responsive with staying in touch, showing up on time and most importantly getting the job done for a lot less than all the other quotes i had (parts were priced right also). plus he came to us to do the work which is a big deal when you're broken down or have other commitments which makes it hard to get to a shop. it's going to be a no brainer to continue using him in the future as he knows these trucks and has proven his work to me. thanks again ryan.

I concur. a couple months ago Ryan did an eval and some work on my 40. As a new guy to the cruiser world, he was very helpful showing me what he was doing and the whole thing was a huge educational experience. oh, and I live in DC and he was willing to drive out all the way here and since has done work on my roommate's 4runner and another friend's f150. I got the sense that he's very passionate about his work and endeavors to do it with excellence...something rare these days. very honest and fair, i definitely hope to have him do more work for me in the future. and give him more referrals in DC for whenever he comes back out my way. big fan!

oh, and to give you a better idea of his honesty (and my new-ness), and just how outstanding of a guy he is, when we talked on the phone prior to him coming out my way, i was totally convinced i had a blown head gasket! we actually talked about that being a likely possibility. He shows up, does his thing, and tells me my gasket is fine and that i'm low on coolant and have a loose belt :)oi know, what am i doing with a 40 right? i'm learning). My experience tells me that any lesser mechanic would've smelled an opportunity. then he bought me lunch (i really did try to buy his but he insisted!)....true story.

I've now had Ryan do the front brakes on our 100 series cruiser, an ABS module on my A4 and some rust repair/fab work on my defender 90 -- outstanding work on all three, very reasonable prices, and a damn nice guy. Highly reccomended.
