hello all, i've finally saved the money and am taking the plunge. i'm looking for a local seller of high steer kits for my fj60 for an soa, just trying to avoid shipping. any recommendations? thanks

Ya, but you're gonna pay tax and depending on the price, the tax maybe a lot higher than the shipping.

2 cents,

was it all-pro that's out of oregon? somebody was pushing their state being sales-tax free. any idea what shipping might run? i plan on ordering tomorrow.

All-Pro is out of CA. So's Marlin. Neither will have tax on them as long as they don't have a retail outlet in AZ. I have no idea what shipping will be since I have no idea what the stuff you are ordering weighs.

I don't know what Hysteer for an FJ60 axle consists of, but mini-truck stuff is well under 30 lbs. if it's just the pitman, a couple of steering arms, and the tierods and ends. I'd *guess* shipping should be around $30-40 at most and that's only b/c the tierods might require and "oversize" box due to the length.

Like I said though.....all depends on the hysteer's price. At $799 and 8% sales tax, it's cheaper to ship. @ $399 it's $33 in tax....about the same.

IIRC Trail Gear has free shipping on orders over $100.

Also consider Luke @ 4x4 Labs kits, they are more money, but have some advantages like proper steering angles. He may work with you on price and/or shipping due to the CSC group buy?

I bought Marlin. You will need "custom length" tie rods and drag links - LINK HERE. I haven't installed yet, but the quality is excellent except that the threads in the rods needed to be cleaned up.

Seems everybody(Trail-Gear, All-Pro, Marlin, Low Range, etc) has a similar set up on sale, just remember the rods they stock are for mini-trucks. Be sure to let them know you are installing on a FJ60!
