Hi all, so my overlanding and excursion goals are likely a bit different than what a lot of other folks on this board might be.
There is a 2006 GX470 at a local Toyota dealer. Vehicle looks clean in the 50+ photos they have online. It has 130,000 on the odometer, but for these vehicles that seems to be just getting warmed up.
The maintenance history looks good, but it looks like it definitely needs a timing belt service done. From the AutoCheck the TB service isn't noted anywhere so I'm guessing it's not done.
My goal is to use this vehcile as a daily driver for 3 years. At which point it will be paid off and then I'll feel comfortable running ot offroad.
So with the vehicle being a 2006 it has the older nav maps, no aux port.
For me an aux port is something I like to have since I have a portable hifi device that I run music through.
I've seen some ways to install new stereo interfaces that use the existing amp and speakers but they seem a little complex and I'm bad with electrical things.
Is the vehicle itself worth going through the extra hassle to get the music system up to where I'd like it?
I'm really staring at this vehicle in part also because right now I've got a Chevy Equinox as my daily, but it has let me down with mechanical issues pretty recently and I'm looking to get out of this vehicle and into something that will be more reliable.
Thanks for your help
