Went to put some Marlin Crawler Lo gears in my Hilux and found that I have a chain driven transfer case. (7 bolts vs. 5)

Does anyone make 4.70 type Low gears for the chain driven transfercases? if no, Anyone just swap out the chain driven for gear driven to get lower gearing in the t-case?

Crickets....

No replacement gears exist for the chain cases.

If you are passenger drop, there are adapters that allow an rf1a gear case to be installed.

But personally, for the cost, just go with crawl box (Marlin, trail gear, advanced adapters or NWF) in front of the current case

Thanks for the info. seems like an adapter and rf1a would be a lot less modification than a crawl box, no? ( no cutting of floors or modifying driveshafts)
