I just recently purchase my lj78 model and if there's one thing that I'm really confused about is how to operate the 4wd. Because I see several options in each picture that I've attach that I think our for 4wd. Therefor I need someone to help explain to me what are these option and what is the best option if I need to activate my 4wd when I'm approaching some ruff roads.

Hub lock means the front wheels are prepared to go into four wheel drive. Leave the others alone.
H4 means four wheel drive High, or normal, range of gears and speeds. Hub lock must be on.

The L4 shift lever means four wheel drive Low range. This gives more power but less speed. Hub lock on again.

Diff lock means that the two wheels will spin at the same rate with equal power going to each one.

Also, only engage your hubs when stopped or going very slow (less than 8km/hr I think they say). The hubs are prone to failure due to the electronic brushes failing/breaking when people work on the front axle. You should jackup your front axle sometime and engage the hubs. Turn the front drive shaft by hand and make sure both front wheels turn. Disengage the hubs, and make sure the front wheels don't turn. This will tell you if the hubs are working correctly or not.

Once the hubs are engaged, you can push the H4 (high four) button while you are driving. Don't use it on a high traction surface though. Don't drive faster than 80km/h.

You must stop and put the auto transmission in neutral to shift into L4 using the small transfer case shifter.

Don't use the diff lock except when you are driving straight, and absolutely need it while extreme 4x4ing. I only use mine if I'm stuck or in a very precarious situation.
