I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I'm planning on putting a locker into my Prado ( 1990 with the G144 code axle) and am trying to decide whether to go with using a factory elocker out of my wrecked 96 4runner or going with the ARB . If I use my factory e-locker I'm aware I need to modify my axle housing and pull the wiring/relay/ and switch out of the 4runner and also change the ring and pinion to a 4.88.
If go ARB I should just need to move my ring from the open diff to the locker and set backlash( and of course plumb it in, install a compressor etc. but I do have plans to install a compressor anyways). I've done a bunch of searching and there seems to be a difference of opinion on which ARB unit I need. From what I can tell its the RD132 that I need but I'm hoping someone who has installed one in the same axle can confirm this.
