Hi guys,
the Proportioning valve arm that connects to the rear axle is seized in the valve and doesn't adjust it with axle travel like it should.

i would just replace the valve but i plan to do a rear disk conversion on the axle.
Question- as the callipers would require more/less fluid than the drums do the valves automatically respond and compensate or are they 'fixed'.

Also, i have you converted the axle to 3 link, which might flex the attached valve arm too much? so, what are my options?

The LJ70 should already be sporting disc brakes....
With a drum handbrake / ebrake.
You can get aftermarket proportioning valves (willwood) and you adjust them so the rears come on at a point you like....
Search the forum as there are a few discussions on this in most of the different sections and all are relevant.

thanks for the reply.

the truck is an earlier (89/90) LJ70 with drum brakes- i've converted the handbrake to disk using a X-ENG X Brake, but still need to sort out rear disks, not sure whether to use later disks & calipers etc or fab something.

i've read some through some threads already which have helped, but it's hard to find something that you don't know what it is lol, although i am learning stuff

so i have a Load Sensitive Proportioning Valve,
Wilwood have an adjustable proportioning valve which sounds good but has 5 ports? can/do you just block port off to replace the Toyota LSPV?
i think theres 3 ports on my LSPV, two from the front and one to the back axle?

heres what i have at the moment....

another thing to add into the equation is that i have +2" coil springs which would affect the LSPV if i used one.
