So ive got my hands on what was a basically completely stock LJ70 Bundera with genuine 160000kms on it, Body is very good for its age, hardly any rust, nothing been tampered with. A great platform for me to start tampering with things.

This is how I bought the car, Stock lift, 31" BF Goodies KM2 Muddies and a fat TJM bulbar that stuck out like all good ol 70s series.

After purchasing a winch I was tossing up whether to use the TJM alloy bar and just stick a winch cradle in it or buy a completely new bar. I went for the latter and after getting in contact with "Alex Gee" a new bar was designed and made, all custom. Im extremely happy with his work, improved the approach angle greatly (after a small amount of trimming of the chassis), and after last weekend I can say it really is up to the task after taking quite a beating.

As for plans on the car, we all have big plans, the bank account usually gets in the way.
When I first got the car my immediate plans were 2" lift and bigger tyres, but after a couple of trips onto the rough stuff I have been taken aback by how capable these cars are, although some extra clearance will be great it has slipped onto the back burner.

The one issue I have with the car so far after a month of driving, and a couple trips into the bush is power, and I always expected that. So other then a few odds and bobs ill be doing on the car, I will be madly saving for a new engine, turbo diesel is the aim. Looking at 1kz-t 's atm, if anyone has done an engine conversion similar or something different and would like to recommend im all ears for suggestions.

Hopefully next weekend I can get the winch in.

Nice bar looks very strong and would love one to suit my 75 for the 8000 lb Ramsey winch.
We need more body pics as most guys stateside have never seen a bundy. :)

Now that ive got the winch bar I decided that installing the winch was probably a good idea.

Relocated the solenoid to up inside the engine bay, to protect it a bit, this meant making up some longer wires to reach to where I could mount them.

Fortunately I have a cousin working at Jaycar electronics who could look after me, getting all the bits I needed.

Had the winch bar make up around the winch, so it fitted very snuggly in there.

To get the solenoid to fit I had to take it out of its casing, which wasn't doing anything in the way of protecting it from the weather anyway. This is how its mounted at the moment, pretty quick fix, and the connections were insulated after this photo.
May get moved around and when I do an engine swap eventually.

Took it down the street, it all works, which is always a bonus!
