After talking with numerous people ( current buyers of FJ's) & salespeople they have all given their opinions as to what should be fixed or included in the next years production. These include -
1 - Passenger side armrest as standard on all models
2 - locking fuel door with inside release
3 - Grab handles to make it easier for back seat passengers to get in & out
4 - converting illumination lamps in mirrors into signal lights (great safety feature)
5 - replace flimsy side wings on front bumper with a more sturdy design
6 - inside rear window release from dash

These would probably be very easy fixes for Toyota and would be welcome additions.
Anybody think of any other items that might be usefull??

both driver and passenger outside mirrors should take the bottom inch and make them a convex-type mirror to help reduce blind spots....one critical I noticed on my test drive yesterday - and with the mirror shape, it would fit in nicely too IMO

Maybe the next generation will open up that C-pillar area for some actual visibility.

Plus, the option of NOT having a color-matched panel in the center of the dash. That thing hurts my eyes.

More Leg Room In The Rear!!!

Just dreaming....

-Optional jump seats.
-More flexible packaging options.
-Door opener/handle on inside of tailgate door.
-Moab version/model (or something like that) with: Factory lift, 34" or 35" MTs, special fender extentions to cover them, factory rock rails, lower/flatter roof rack that has a higher load limit to accept safari type loads and a sterio system that gets the weather band.

How about some original FJ40 colors i.e. rustic green, olive brown, desert tan, mustard yellow, nordic blue, red. Black and Grey are ok but come on, the current offered colors?

drain holes in the floor, removable top, get rid of that stupid pillar that makes the blind spot.

How about an oil burner? Yea, I know...keep dreaming!

Yeah if they make an off-road package I hope it'll have a 4:1 and a front locker.

Other than that I agree about the colours, the current ones flat out suck. Dark Green, Dark Blue, and Tan would be a good start.

Tan thats the ticket..........
Tan-FJ.webp

see, thats how it should come from the factory

they need to allow the front seats to swing forward to allow easier access to the backseats.

That tan cruiser is one bad a** FJ. I thought I liked the black but.....damn if i don't like the tan! I hope someone in the higher ranks of toyota see these forums and make these changes for next year.

removable top, solid front axle, thats all i would need to sell all my junk and buy one

and diesel, then it would be perfect

I'd like to see them:

1. fix the rear door - move the spare somewhere else so the view's a bit better.
2. make the front seats slide forward and remove the half doors.
3. move the rear seats back a bit while you're at it.
4. kill the silly mirror lights and go with some split black ones - with the bottom blind spot mirror like someone mentioned.
5. option for the V-8 :)

Since the current 4Runner is supplied w/ a diesel in other countries, it's obviously possible!
