Anyone know if the route back to Lion/Trapper City is accessible.

West of Melrose.
Larry: Lion City/Trapper City are in that same general area near Vipond Park. Nice area west of Melrose and South of Dewey. With the weather this year, I doubt its accessible yet, but haven't been down there this spring so not certain. Usually best access not until July.
snow level around Helena is down low today.
did you see they were calling for 10-15" above 5,000 feet White Sulfer Springs thru Lewistown.
Called mom and dad and they were supposed to have 90 today in NJ.

I made it a little over 3/4 of the way back to Lion/Trapper City. Had to stop and park and then hike a bit back in but the snow got too deep to traverse without snow shoes or ski's.

it does look like it'll be quite awhile until it's opened up.

No. There was another individual out there who was ahead of me on ski's.
The snow around here is crazy. It will be late summer and we can really get anywhere deep in the mountains. It might be fun to pull together a quick day run up to this spot and explore a bit. I've never been back there. Looks cool!
