I'm planning an audio upgrade to my '06 LC and I'd love to pull a pre-amp audio signal if it's possible. Do any of you audio gurus know if it's possible to pull a line level signal from the harness going from the Radio/Nav to the factory amp? I've been searching the forums and seen some indication that it's a 'special signal' but haven't been able to track down a clear answer.
Specifically, I'm wondering if tapping into the signal common ground (black wire) and the FR and FL positive lines (Pink and Yellow wires in the diagram below) would give me a usable line level signal or if this is a digital/custom feed of some sort. I know I can cut the lines and find out, but I'd like to avoid mangling the harness if this has already been proven not to work.
Alternately, do you know of any other way to get a pre-amp signal out of these integrated nav units? I know the factory amp has to stay, but I'd like to bypass the audio through it if possible. I also haven't figured out what to do about the Nav/Hands Free Audio if this does work, but that problem's further down my fix list.
