Couldn't find anything exactly like this so I figured I'd better ask before I end up in a ditch somewhere.

I am extremely sensitive to sounds and behaviors in all my cars, so that could play a part in this, but I don't think so. I've noticed that at certain low city speeds (perhaps depending on the road surface?) I feel an ever so slight binding or "grinding" through the floor. I feel this moreso when I'm riding in the passenger's front seat of the truck. I also notice it more when coming off the highway to an off ramp as I begin to turn the wheel on the ramp. My PS pump seems fine so I don't think it's that, plus that is a noise rather than a "feeling".

Could this possibly be related to all the gunk that has been expelled by my CV boots over time? I haven't had a chance to check and see if they're actually torn, or just loose. Full turns don't seem to make any clicking however.

Btw, I screwed up on the title... this isn't even a noise you can hear, it is something I feel through the floor. Another test I tried was throwing the transmission in neutral while rolling. No change.

Thanks.

When was the last time you repacked your wheel bearings?

I doubt you have sliders already, but check those if you have them. Mine have made that noise when the mounts slid up after holding the weight of the truck.

Then its time, even if its not the cause of the noise its supposed to be done every 30k. Its not a real difficult job, you may be able to find someone local to help. Where are you?

Really worn rear control arm bushings, upper and lower, could make a binding noise. It's really hard to pinpoint noises under the truck, so it could be the back. I would check them out.

I'm in KS. There's a few offroad shops down here in southern KS that I'm sure could take a look at it.
