I am going to install my Radflo suspension with UCA's tomorrow. I was wondering what do you do with the module that sit on top of the front shocks? Would it trigger any dashlights if I remove the module. What does tour wiring loom look like after the aftermarket shocks/coilovers are installed.

I believe you’d get a much quicker response if you posted up your questions on Gxor Facebook page, especially since you’re starting in a few hours. Good luck

Just unplug the shock modules and leave them out. No error lights on my truck after doing that.

Passenger's Side
Hard to see, but on the passenger side I zip tied the plug to a tab that holds the ABS line. You can see it if you zoom in on the image.

how do you remove the module and bracket above the shocks.
It was a pain to be honest.. probably the hardest part of the install was removing those stupid controllers. Well.. it’s a toss up between the shock controllers and the front KDSS sway bar reinstall.

There are two Allen bolts on the top of the module. Remove those and it should lift straight up off the shock.

On my truck both the the Allen bolts were frozen on both sides. I even used PB blaster and let it soak, but I ended up stripping 3 of the 4 bolts.

I was able to remove two of the three (the ones towards the outside of the truck) with vice grip pliers. Very slow going.

For the other side that this didn’t work I was able to rotate the module enough to loosen the nut that sits between the module and the metal bracket, then I just used a long Allen key to unscrew that nut by just pushing it with the Allen key, 1/6th of a turn at a time. Eventually it came unscrewed and I was able to pull the module and the bracket off together.

Hope the description makes sense.

The bracket is attached to the threaded part in the center, this the the nit that I needed to remove with the module in place.

This is the top of the modules. You’re supposed to be able to remove both of the Allen bolts, pull the module out, then unscrew the nut that holds the metal bracket in place.

Good info... FSM has front stabilizer bar being removed as a step

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/at...52-lifting-the-gx460-frontavsshockremoval.pdf
I followed the manual (thank you again 22Eyunu35VO for sending me the link to the FSM when I was installing my suspension) for removal and install of the front sway bar.. it’s still a pretty big pain to reinstall it. You’ll really want a friend to help you get the sway bar held in place while install the brackets on the lower control arms.

Thanks everyone. This definitely help me understand how the bracket was held in. I did not know if there was an easier way to access the rear screw. I plan to leave the KDSS swaybar in place. I am also replacing the upper control arm with Total Chaos unit so I should have plenty of room to remove the old and reinstall the new shocks.

The strut assembly will not come out And the new coil-overs won’t go in without removing the sway bar. There’s way too much tension on the lower control arm with the sway bar installed to get the shocks out. You could try a spring compressor, but I think that would be more difficult/dangerous than removing the sway bar.

Finally got the suspension installed. It took a bit longer than expected. The front install was not bad at all. I was able to leave the KDSS alone. On the driver side, I disconnected the steering knuckle and UCA. I was able to squeeze in the shock without much of a problem. The passenger front side, the process was the same except I jacked up the piston which lowers the passenger LCA. I think the biggest pain was the airbag removal. I was able to remove the clips but not able to remove the air hose from the air bags. I decided to cut the hose off which deflates the airbag to make it easy for removal.

Nice, glad you got it done. I didn't think the front LCAs would drop low enough with the Sway bar still attached. I tried it, after removing the ball joint on the top of the steering knuckle but the struts wouldn’t budge. That’s when I removed the sway bar. Would have been much happier if i could have done it without having to remove it.

Did you have all 4 wheels in the air at the same time?

I just have the front end on jack stands. After I finished the front I put the rears on stands. Do you have any rubbings with the reservoirs at the front when turning a tight radius?

I installed mine the same way, front first with the rear on the ground.

No rubbing the reservoirs on mine at full turn. I’m running a 32.5ish tire with stock wheels.

I got my wheels mounted today. There was lots of rubbing at inside edge of the front of sidestep. I got rid of most of it by cutting the inside art of the steps for now. I will install my RSG sliders next week.
