Hi y’all. Sold my rough 80 last year and joined the tree club with a 07! It’ll mostly be a family crawler, FS road exploration and camping trips but I pulled the trigger on new springs/shocks for a 2.5” lift.

Got some great stuff off 1stgenoffroad, they are really helpful. The rear I’ll be using OME 2862 coils/60071L shocks to support passenger and gear weight. The front is getting B8 5100 shocks with stock coils fod now.

Could use some advise/help on wheels more than tires. I’m considering steel for price but will there be a large decrease in mpg? I also don’t want to spend a fortune on alloy, but wanting something different than the stock wheels would be nice.

I don’t know a lot about wheel sizing, but I’m planning to use a 285 size tire and stock with a 17” rim.

Is there a good place to look for steel, alloy rims for a sequoia I should know about and should I be concerned about wheel weight?

Any thoughts are welcome!

I'm in MA but have a set of 18" TRD Pro BBS forged takeoffs that I would sell. I have Fuel wheels on my truck right now as I am not a fan of black wheels though many seem to like black. I know it's not 17s but they are light and if you like black they look pretty cool

I saw the post on your new 2nd gen. Looks really good. I’m guessing these rims would be out of my price range. I’m considering keeping my current rims for now until I find what I need.

She’s lifted!!!

Here’s a short synopsis on the lift.

Purchased most parts through 1stgenoffroad. They were super helpful and directly me the right way. With 4 growing kids, gear and who knows what else, they recommended OME 2862 lift coils and OME ARB 670001 shocks too. This gave the rear a 2” lift.

Used Bilstien B8 5100 on the front, had to purchase else where since out of stock, and used the original front coils. The 5100 were adjusted to the 4th notch, which instructions said would provide a 2.4” lift.

I wish I had taken pre measurements, but my phone was almost dead when we started installing the lift, around 9pm….was a late night! :p Overall the lift went in great and really glad we went with the 2862 coils in the rear. The back still sits higher and I like that look.

Overall the lift went well. My sequoias undercarriage is super clean, so only a couple tough bolts. SO glad I had someone to help because the rear shocks are a butt to get off. That bolt is tight!

I had some cheap Ironman 285/70/17 tires installed. Our sequoia came with some 4Runner wheels for some reason, but they look good. Keeping them for now, but need some offset wheels.

The tires fit good, plenty of space and could probably go larger if wanted. In extreme tight turns, the tires rub the UCA some, hence wanting some offset rims.

We dig the look! And glad it doesn’t look too extreme, sits more like it should I think.

We do get some noises when hitting bumps and curious if anyone has suggestions on what else could be worn out after they installed their lift. I assume some bushings? I’m replacing brake pads soon and going to look around. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

What specific model and finish of Fuel wheels do you have? I will upgrade my rims soon and I came across some designs of theirs that I like.
